Tell us what makes Stanford a good place for you.
The best way to develop any skill is to immerse yourself in the right environment. I believe Stanford has the perfect environment to give me not only a good education, but a stimulating one surrounded with people enthusiastic about discussions of the latest theory of how the universe came into existence, or proving Fermat’s Last Theorem on a doily in the cafe. As the old adage about becoming what your friends are goes, I believe the people I will be surrounded with in Stanford will be just the people to stretch me mentally and hone my critical thinking skills.
As I plan to read Engineering, I believe that seeing real life examples of engineering in action would inspire students to dream up engineering ideas and even commercialize them. Since Silicon Valley is just next to Stanford, I hope to make use of the opportunities presented there. Stanford students have set up several companies within its walls and brought their ideas to Silicon Valley, and I hope to eventually do that. Stanford’s research programmes are extremely strong as well. I have an interest in Quantum Mechanics and was happy to see that some labs there work on related projects.
I have researched extensively on the feelings of Stanford alumni and current students towards the school. All are extremely enthusiastic and glad to have gone there. It has been said that no one who matriculates into Stanford regrets his or her decision as the environment is just so warm, welcoming, and beautiful that everyone instantly feels it to be their home away from home. With such a stimulating environment, I believe Stanford would be just the place for me to excel in and build lasting relationships with people and organizations.
